This fourth grade lesson (could easily adapt to other grade levels) focuses on the rakhi bracelet tradition in India. Raksha Bandhan is a holiday in India that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. Siblings give each other a special bracelet for protection. With this project, students create their own rakhi bracelets using a warm or cool color scheme. This PowerPoint presentation includes priority standards (National Core Arts Standards), "I can" statements, color scheme activities, cultural information, and a project rubric!
