Each week I hope to introduce my students to a contemporary artist who will inspire them to think outside the box. I'm calling this a "Creative Break." Students will take a pause on their current project, and switch modes to tackle an artist mini challenge!
This 6-page resource introduces students to United States printmaker, Bill Fick, and challenges them to create symmetrical face with gruesome, odd, and/or creepy details.
I used this as an intro to printmaking and had students design a character on scratch-foam printing board. My advanced students may choose to use this design for a future lino-cut project!
